This work was originally published in 1973 as The Eternal Subject. It was revised by Le Poer Trench and republished by Pan Books (London) in 1975.
Brinsley Le Poer Trench (d. 1995) was a leading British researcher into UFOs with pedigree on the subject dating back to 1948. He had close relations with other leading lights on the subject, such as Waveney Girvan, the founder of the Flying Saucer Review (est. 1954), Captain Ivar MacKay (former chair of the British UFO Research Association) and the Rev Dr Norman Cockburn (pronounced co-burn) renowned for his study of the Bible referencing UFOs.
Brinsley Le Poer Trench, was the 8th Earl of Clancarty, and the 7th Marquess of Heusden. He was engaged in UFO research for almost half a century. He was editor of one of the world's leading and most respected UFO magazines, Flying Saucer Review, author of several books on the subject, president of Contact International, and vice-president of the British UFO Research Association. Brinsley Le Poer Trench is still (2022) regarded as one of the most erudite writers and thinkers in the field of UFO research.
